Allison and Joe were in the same degree track, at the same tiny liberal arts college in the middle of nowhere, at the same time, with many of the same friends. Somehow, we were introduced 2 years after all of this. We were friends first while Joe was over the road. Once he was home daily, we very quickly decided to be more than that.
Through truly unprecedented times, our love blossomed. Through turbulence, it persevered. Around the six year mark, after a 20 minute bike ride home from Nicollet Island, Allison proposed in our living room in August of 2025. She celebrated vicariously and largely in secret through Taylor Swift's engagement two days later, scheduling a bonfire and family dinners to surprise our loved ones with the news.
